Meet Linka Moja, a fearless musician determined to carve out her own space in the music industry, recently kicking off her career by defying odds and taking a leap of faith.
It was during a serendipitous encounter at Kelly Slater's surf camp, where musical luminaries like Eddie Vedder and Jack Johnson were surfing, that she found herself faced with a moment of truth. With nothing but her passion and determination, she courageously stepped forward, grabbed one of their guitars, and began playing her original songs.
Taking such a bold and audacious risk was no small feat, especially in the presence of music legends who had undoubtedly seen it all. But Linka Moja's unwavering belief in her music and her unyielding passion propelled her to seize the moment. With each strum of her guitar, she poured her heart and soul into her performance, captivating the attention of Eddie Vedder and leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
Recognizing her talent and the raw potential Eddie Vedder, a rock and roll hall of fame musician himself, offered her an invaluable opportunity to play at the prestigious Ohana Festival. With a year to prepare Linka Moja started by recording her live cuts album Cough Drop and then jumped in the studio with producer Oscar Niedhart, renowned for his work with Thirty Seconds to Mars, pouring her heart and soul into her debut studio album, "Serial Monogamist" coming out this summer of 2023.
I grew up playing in kid bands with my brother Lynx. We started off playing vinyl covers, with me on vocal/guitar and Lynx on bass/drums. In total I was in 5 bands throughout my youth, ranging from classic rock to alternative punk.
I journal in music. I wake up each morning usually with a new song in my head, inspired by whatever life event I'm experiencing. I've been recording these thoughts and feelings for many years now, which is cool because I have somewhat of a complete emotional seismograph of the last couple years.
